Subject: where's Billy?
The sbd balance is okay, but it sounds like Billy is almost totally MIA from the mix for the pre-drumz portion of the 2nd set: there are no drums in the left channel, giving it a more spacious, open feel than normal (or maybe it was just the altitude). Not bad, but…interesting. Tasty S>F and an excellent post-drumz, esp the hot O1>Wharf Rat with an epic Jerry climax and segue that Bob totally misses, hence everyone busting his chops on Around and making him crack up. Fun show, but not quite the same vibe or energy as Boise or Red Rocks imho.

Park West Ski Resort was a rocky, cactus infested ski hill. There was only one road in and out of there and traffic on a concert night backed up for hours. Of course, it was the dead, so who cares?

Another great one from '83 - this tour, the one Phil drove his car around from show to show with Jill - is awesome. Wonderfully rich-sounding sbd from Mr. Miller -

Set 1 - Jer blows the lyrics to Bertha more than a couple of times; Promised Land charges out of the gate with a surprisingly huge amount of energy. Rest of the set is workhorse-solid; gotta love a CC>R closer.

Set 2 - There were a lot of amazing S>F jams in '83, and this is another one. Dig the percussion in particular on the latter - they are in a total groove on this one...Other One > Wharf Rat is another fantastic highlight - don't be fooled by the running time on the former (crank it UP!) and dig the latter's buildup to pure rock and roll and on into A&A - wow!

(By the way, anyone that was there know why Bobby's cracking up so hard on A&A?)

i love this show as much for the 10+ sound quality as the show... the wild ending to wharf rat is nutty and the jerry/bob interplay peaks out in killer manner. awesome.

Track #13 is incorrectly listed as Drums. It is actually Man Smart, Woman Smarter. So all the titles after that are one off. Just FYI.
